Our team is led by Ms. Imavathi Subramaniam, who has extensive experience in diverse insurance claims, including motor and non motor policies, to meet the unique needs of the industry. She has appeared in all tiers of the court system in the country. Ms. Imavathi is an expert in litigating fraud claims and securing favorable declarations for insurance companies in policy-related issues.

MANAGING PARTNER
lmavathi holds a LLB Degree from University of London and also completed her Certificate in Legal Practice. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1998. She has been in active practice since 1998, specializing in General Insurance matters. In 2012, she registered Ws. lmavathi & Co and since then emplaced on the panel of several General Insurance companies.
Over the years, her focus has been in handling complex insurance claims, fraudulent claims and declaration matters involving motor policies. She has numerous dismissals and reported cases to her credit, which emanate from the appellate courts.
lmavathi is often invited to speak at forums on topics concerning the legal process and insurance related matters. She was also a serving member of the Penang Bar Committee. She was in the task force committee to review the Compendium of Personal Injury Awards. She is also a member of the Bar Council Disciplinary Board and the Personal Injury Claims Committee.

Mary Judeena Mychalnathan

MARY JUDEENA MYCHALNATHAN holds a LL.B.(Hons) from Northumbria University, UK. She completed her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2017 and is an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. Upon completing the final stretch of pupilage at Messrs Khaw Ewe Seng & Co. and being called to the Malaysian Bar in March 2019, she got into the civil litigation field of practice before joining the firm as a Legal Assistant in 2020 where she has been exposed to personal injury claims through and through.
She has an eye for amicable resolution of matters and is an avid enthusiast in handling out-of-court settlements. In further developing her skills, she has pursued a Professional Diploma in International Arbitration, conducted by the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators.
She has achieved a track record of successful settlements and negotiations, contributing to positive client outcomes and enhancing her reputation as a skilled negotiator.

RENJITA GUNASEKARAN, a distinguished graduate of Multimedia University with an LL.B degree conferred in 2020, embarked on her legal journey with notable promise. Shortly after obtaining her degree, she commenced her pupillage at Messrs Dass, Jainab & Associates, where she amassed considerable expertise, particularly in the realm of insurance defense, and developed a notable proficiency in personal injury work.
Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in October 2021, she launched her practice in tort law, driven by a fervent passion for negotiating amicable resolutions for all claims. Following her admission to the Bar, she began her career as a Legal Assistant, continuing to specialize in these areas while handling a diverse range of legal matters.

She completed her pupillage at Messrs. Dass, Jainab & Associates, with additional experience under VP Nathan & Partners, where she demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in handling diverse legal matters. During this period, she gained comprehensive exposure to personal injury, insurance law, and civil law.

HO YI YIT obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of the West of England, Bristol, graduating with First Class Honours in 2022. She later completed her LLM / Bar Vocational Studies (BVS) with a specialism in Advanced Criminal Practice in 2024, graduating with Merit, and is a Barrister-at-Law of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
She gained practical legal experience involving insurance litigation, as well as conveyancing and probate / letters of administration at Low & Partners from December 2024 to September 2025 before joining Imavathi & Co. in October 2025. At the firm, she currently assists the Managing Partner in handling complex cases.
Yi Yit’s responsibilities include attending court proceedings, securing witnesses, and drafting pleadings. She is recognised for her detail-oriented approach and her ability to support complex matters with care and precision.

SHAMINI VISUNADAN was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2021, embarking on her legal career with a concentration in Criminal Law. She specialized in offenses under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, the Penal Code, the Customs Act 1967, the Peraturan Peraturan Pendaftaran Negara 1970, and the Immigration Act 1959.
In her relatively brief practice, she has skillfully broadened her scope to include Civil Law, addressing disputes arising from contracts, personal injury claims, medical negligence, defamation, and statutory claims under the Strata Management Act 2013 and the Electricity Supply Act 1990.
Upon joining our team, her primary focus is in the southern Peninsular, where she has found a particular calling in the handling and litigation of personal injury matters. She is now dedicated to refining her litigation skills and advancing her expertise in this specialized area.

She completed her pupillage at Messrs Shobana M & Associates from August 2022 to July 2023 and was subsequently in practice at The Law Chambers of Sakila from September 2024 to July 2025, where she handled plaintiff matters.
She is currently an Associate at Imavathi & Co., focusing exclusively on insurance litigation. Her work includes attending court proceedings, drafting pleadings, and managing litigation files, where she plays an active role in supporting the conduct of cases.
